Holyrood Park is a vast, beautiful landscape located in the heart of Edinburgh. Spanning 650 acres, the park is dominated by Arthur’s Seat, an ancient extinct volcano rising 251 meters (823 feet) above sea level, providing amazing panoramic views of Edinburgh and beyond. The park’s diverse terrain includes steep cliffs, rolling hills, and peaceful lochs, such as St Margaret’s Loch and Duddingston Loch, and home to a variety of wildlife.

Holyrood Park is also home to Salisbury Crags, a set of basalt cliffs popular with geologists and hikers, as well as the ruins of St Anthony’s Chapel. Furthermore, situated next to Holyrood Palace, the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland, Holyrood Park has long been associated with Scottish royalty and is a key part of Edinburgh’s cultural and natural heritage.
