Dean Village is a hidden away, beautiful place located just northwest of Edinburgh's city centre. With its old buildings, cobbled lanes, and the sound of the Water of Lieth flowing through the village, it feels like you've taken a step back in time.

Dean Village is a beautiful village nestled along the Water of Leith, and just a short walk from Edinburgh's city centre. Once a bustling milling village, it dates back to the 12th century and was home to numerous water mills that powered the local industry. Today, Dean Village is known for its charming cobbled streets, well-preserved 19th-century buildings, and scenic riverside walks. It certainly feels like you have taken a step back in time, or on the set of a movie.

Dean Village provides a peaceful escape from the busy city of Edinburgh, with lush greenery, stone bridges, and the gentle sounds of the Water of Leith creating a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s a favorite spot for photographers, history enthusiasts, and those looking for a quiet stroll through one of Edinburgh’s most picturesque neighborhoods. I always love coming here, starting at Dean Village and walking along the Water of Leith to Stockbridge, another beautiful spot in Edinburgh.
